1914/15 Star named B-3162 PTE P SEWELL RIF BRIG, British War Medal named B-3162 CPL P SEWELL RIF BRIG & Memorial Plaque named PERCY SEWELL.

Percy Sewell was born in Salford, Lancs, lived in Hulme, Lancs when he enlisted at Manchester into the 9th Rifle Brigade numbered B-3162 when he landed in France with them on 21st May 1915. In the attacks on and around Delville Wood on 15th Sept 1916 he was killed in action and is remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.

He was originally listed as missing in action and attempts by the Red Cross were made but came to nothing.
