1914/15 Star WIA x 2 Pte Jackson 6th R W Kent

1914/15 Star named G-265 PTE S JACKSON R W KENT R.Sam was born in 1891 at ossingham, Newark. He joined the Royal West Kent regiment on 20th Aug 1914 and started his training with the 6th Battalion.All did not go well as he deserted in early Jan 1916 but was court and sentenced to 56 days in prison. He rejoined his battalion. On 9th March 1916 he was listed as wounded slight. Then on 6th July 1916 he is listed as wounded GSW thigh and chest wall and was sent back home.When he recovered he joined the 3rd Battalion, 1st Battalion and 8th battalion which he left for France with on 17th Dec 1916.In April 1917 he was transferred to the 113 Coy Royal Engineers numbered 245276. He arrived back in UK in May 1918 and was posted back to the Royal West Kent 3rd Battalion.
