1914/15 Star, British War & Victory Medals named 184758 J R S GRIERSON AB RN.

John Rogerson Scott Grierson was from Bristol born in Jan 1879 and joined the Navy in 1895 aged 16.When WW1 broke out he was on HMS Canopus which fired the first shots of the Battle of Falklands hitting the German Armourer Cruiser SMS Gneisenau. Next he went on the Dardenelles attack on Turkish Forts and held evacuate the troops from Gallipoli in Jan 1916 and he left her in May 1916 when she returned to UK. His next ship was HMS Gabriel a mine sweeper which he finished the war on her leaving in June 1921.No sign of LS&GC so he must have done something wrong at some stage.
