Frank Sydney Talbot born 8th April 1891 in Kensington, London and attended Alderman Newtons School, Leicester. His father was a Horse Trainer and he was a Chief Clerk Insurance in Leicester when he enlisted into the army. He joined the Inns of Court OTC on 1st Jan 1917 numbered 10274. He applied for a commission and was granted it on 28th Nov 1917 with the Royal Warwickshire Regt and landed in France in April 1918 with the 2/6th battalion.

He is next noted as being wounded in action on 3rd Sept 1918 due to being gassed and it was serious enough for him to be sent back to the UK on the 13th Sept 1918. The war was over for him and he was discharged on 20th Jan 1919.
