Thomas Oliver Morley born on 27th Sept 1891 in Portsmouth and living in Mile End, Portsmouth as an apprentice blacksmith. He enlisted into the Royal Engineers on 30th Aug 1914 numbered 26724 and landed in France on 20th Sept 1915 with the 23rd Field Company. On 29th Sept 1915 at the Battle of Loos he was Wounded in Action wound to head and neck, as we have found newspaper and hospital confirmations confirming this. He returned to active service in Salonika in Jan 1916 where he contact malaria. After the war he re-enlisted into the Royal Engineers on 12th Feb 1921 from the Researves, now numbered 1844723 and earned his LS&GC medal in 1933 before being discharged on 10th May 1937, award an MSM in the period 1949 to 1953.
