1914/15 Star named 10980 PTE C F HUNTER E SURR, British War & Victory Medals named L-10980 PTE C F HUNTER E SURR R.

Christopher Francis Hunter born 1897 enlisted into the East Surrey Regiment numbered L-10980 and landed in France on 24th Mar 1915 with the 2nd battalion. He is noted in the Evening Standard in Oct 1915 as being wounded in action between Apr & May 1915 with the 2nd battalion. Also the Surrey Advertiser 26th May 1915 lists him as severely wounded in the Northern General Hospital, Leicestershire. He transfers to the 7th battalion at some point and then transfers to the 11th Queens Regiment numbered L/11515 and is noted in hospital with Pleurisy in Jan & Mar 1918 before being discharged on 27th Feb 1919.
