British War Medal named 4974 SEPOY PURAN SINGH 21ST PJBIS.

Puran Singh was the Son of Dunni Singh or Aujle, Phillaur, Jullundur, Punjab. He is buried in the Mazargues War Cemetery, France. Around this time the 9th Bhopal Infantry were fighting at the Battle of Neuve Chapelle. CWGC record two dates for his death 31st Mar 1915 and 15th Apr 1915. We have contacted CWGC to find out the true date. The 21st Punjabis sent reinforcements to the 9th Bhopal Infantry, the 21st Punjabis did not as a battalion fight in France.
