MM & Pair Pte Mowis 1/4 South Lancs Regt

A very unusual surname only one Mowis listed in Army MIC. William was from Liverpool and started with the South Lancashire Regiment where he won his MM listed in the Gazette on 7th October 1918. He then transferred to a Training Battalion No.3/7941 and then went into the RE No. 604286. This may be incorrect as unusual movements. The 1/4 S Lan R was a Pioneer Battalion. William is noted as dying in 1972 in Liverpool aged 83.
