Private Sydney John Moss attested at Chatham on 9 September 1914, a painter from Hornsey by trade. He served in the Dardanelles (Gallipoli) 8 May 1915 to 10 May 1916 DCoy Chatham Division,being wounded by a shrapnel bullet in the right foot on 20 October 1915. After recovering from his wounds he served in France from 20 May 1916 to 21 August 1916. He was discharged 1 April 1920 “Service No Longer Required his Character being recorded as indifferent.
