Edgar Douglas Brignell was born in Goole, Yorkshire in 1896 and worked in a dentist. He enlisted into the9th Yorkshire Light Infantry and landed with them on 11th Sept 1915. He was killed in action on 12th Feb 1916 by mine war fare when the enemy blew up trenches 87 & 88, Seven killed and three wounded.
