Frank Leveroni born 15th March 1896 in Elstree and in WW1 joined the 3rd County of London Yeomanry (Sharpshooters) numbered 2242. At a later stage he joined the Middlesex Regiment servingin in the 12th & 1/8th Battalion. During WW2 Frank was in the Royal Engineers as a 2nd Lt (A/Captain) Movement Control Section when in May 1940 he found himself as a Beach Control Officer on the Dunkirk Beaches helping with the evacuations of the troops. He was awarded a mention in dispatches on 20th Dec 1940 for operations in the field March-June 1940. Made Captain 1949 and Major 1953. He died aged 80 in 1976.

His MID was a downgraded MBE – Q9MC) GHQ 1st Echelon BEF – Captain Frank Abel Leveroni Royal Engineers.

At Caen and Mounlt-en-Argences during the evacuation of part of the BEF up to the 18th June. He set a fine example to all ranks of Movement Control, by his untiring devotion to duty. He worked with cheerfulness under very trying conditions with no thought for himself.
