1914/15 Star named 21112 PTE A VENN S WALES BORD.

Arthur Venn born in Bristol and living in Llanhilleth, Mon as a Coal Miner, enlisted into the 10th Battalion (1st Gwent) South Wales Borderers numbered 21112. He landed in France on 3rd Dec 1915 and was in the front line trenches at St Julien on 27th Aug 1916 and the list of casualties were Killed 10/20587 Pte H Rose & 10/21112 Cpl Venn and three others. Arthur sadly lost his fight and he died of wounds on 7th Sept 1916 while in hospital in Boulogne.
