BWM & VM WIA Lt Bourn 61st MGC

British War & Victory Medals named LIEUT G W BOURN.George was from Newcastle-upon-Tyne. He joined up as a Pte in the Northumberland Fusiliers aged 22.He was discharged to a Commission in June 1917 and went to the Machine Gun Corps.He landed in France on 14th Jan 1918 with the 61st MGC and is noted as being wounded in action on 13th April 1918 near Merville with gun shot wound Neck and was sent back to UK.He never made it back and the war finished.
