DCM Sjt Seddon 1st East Lancs R

Distinguished Conduct Medal named 3043 SJT R SEDDON 1/E LAN R.Richard landed in France on the 11th Dec 1914 as Corporal 3043.He was promoted to Sjt and in the LG 3rd June 1919 he was awarded the DCM.He has been continually in France since 1914 and has on many occasions displayed conspicuous ability in leading his platoon in action, especially during operations near Antres in October 1918. His coolness and cheerful spirit under fire have been an inspiring example to his men.Richard was from Wigan.
