WW1 Military Medal named 202157 CPL L MCLACHLAN 1/R SC FUS.
Lachlan McLachlan was from Glasgow and enlisted into the 1st Royal Scots Fusiliers and landed in France with them.
He was awarded an MM LG 11th Feb 1919 for the Battle of Amiens. According to the medal roll he was attached to the Tank Corps so assuming he was acting as some sort of runner for the Tank Corps and his regiment. It was important to keep the Tank Corps informed of any holdup when attacking positions so they could silence any machine gun nests etc.
