Military Medal named 242000 PTE J HIGGINS 1/5 E LANCR – T F. Medal has two dents on it.
Jospeh Higgins was from Chadderton, Oldham. He originally enlisted into the 7th Kings Own Royal Lancaster Regiment numbered 13137 and landed in France on 17th July 1915. At some time he transferred to the 1/5th East Lancashire Regt and won a MM in the Battle of Passchendaele Oct 1917 announced in the London Gazette of 4th February 1918.
