Queens South Africa Medal clasps Transvaal & Cape Colony Script naming LT E M H RAYNSFORD GLOUC RGT.Edward was born in Feb 1870 and his parents were stationed in India when he was made an orphan aged one with his brothers & sisters.In 1899 he was a 2nd Lt in the 5th Battalion Royal Fusiliers (City of London).1900 joined the Gloucestershire Regt as an officer was made a POW.1902 he resigned from the Gloucestershire Regt after service in South Africa – Natal July 1900 to Aug 1900, Transvaal and Cape Colony.When WW1 started he is Temp Lt dated 26 March 1915 in the 7th South Staffordshire Regt.He is next noted as Temp Capt with KOYLI. On the 27 Dec 1917 he is dismissed from service due to General Court Martial with the KOYLI. He never received his WW1 Medals.
