WW1 Pair 2nd Lt Marlin 3rd South Staffs & 1st Lincolnshire MID KIA

British War & Victory Medals named 2 LIEUT J H MARLIN. A bit of confusion as MIC states James Harold while CWGC states Harold James. He was born on 26th August 1884 as Harold James Marlin in West Bromwich, Birmingham. He joined up in September 1914 aged 30, his profession was given as Actuary. He joined the 7th Northaamptonshire Regt numbered 15638. He gained a commission on 1st July 1915 before he was sent abroad.He was a 2nd Lt with the 3rd South Staffordshire Regt. He went abroad on 28th July 1916 and was MID LG 4/1/1917 South Staffs but later must have been attached to 1st Lincolnshire Regt as he was Killed in Action on 12/4/1917. He was the Son of the Late John Marlin.
